How to get Fiber Optic Internet
1. Wait until Grant County PUD or their sub-contractor, North Sky, installs the fiber optics down your street.
2. Pick an Internet Service Provider, Nighthawk Networking, to order your fiber optic gateway to be installed at your house.
3. Once the gateway is installed, Nighthawk Networking comes out, powers-up the fiber optic gateway, installs an Ethernet cable from the gateway to your router, and configures your router.
That’s it! Nighthawk Networking does it all for you. Call as soon as the fiber optics is down your street, or we will provide an ETA for when the internet is expected. We will do all the rest.

When to Call for Fiber Optics
Grant County Fiber has hired North Sky Communications to install fiber optics in the area as a sub-contractor. When North Sky installs the fiber optics on your power poles, or down your street, you are close to getting the fiber optic internet at your home. This is when you need to reach out to Nighthawk Networking, and we will get you on the early installation list.
When North Sky approaches you about where you want your fiber optic gateway box on your house, you are VERY close. Let Nighthawk Networking know you have the gateway and are ready for provisioning. Grant County PUD will still have programming work to do from their end before the gateway is live and active, but we can oversee the rest from there. We will do the rest for you—just make the call!

Green Energy
Nighthawk Networking broadcasts a wireless signal from several locations on high points in Grant County. These are off-grid locations, where we manufacture our own power using solar, wind, and as a 3rd level backup, a small EcoDiesel generator. During Summer months, the solar is enough. During the long dark Winter days, the wind turbine is usually enough. Occasionally the generator kicks-on to ensure uninterrupted service, but not often.
